What are the responsibilities and job description for the Weed whacker/Trimmer In Lawn Care position at Lawn Care Services?
Job Summary:
I'm seeking a skilled and dedicated weed whacker/trimmer. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving the appearance of lawns and landscapes for my clients. This is a hands on role that requires knowledge of lawn care techniques, and the ability to operate power tools. Must have the ability to work in the heat in the summer and enjoy physical work.
Hours will range from 20 to 40 hours per week. Days will fluctuate with weather. Ideally only want to work 3 to 4 days per week. Hours will fluctuate with weather and the time of year. Not all customers get leaf removal and maintenance so weekly customers drop off slowly in middle end of October and November drops even more as leaves finish dropping.
Pay range is set between $15 to $20 per hour CASH under the table pending experience and skillset. ( I will take in account how many lawns we do in regards to total weekly pay scale)
This is early mornings and some long days sometimes pending weather for the week. You will be working directly with me. I do all the mowing and I need someone to do the trim work and blowing the grass off concrete and any clumps in yards. Usually want someone to meet me at 630am in the Carnegie/Heidelberg area, sometimes earlier if first customer is a decent trip away and work until at least 3pm with potential to go until 7pm pending the customer list for the day. May also start earlier at times if the heat is very high some days. Being timely is essential. Every minute not cutting is a minute not making money. May have to work in light rain from time to time if mother nature hits with several days of rain in a row. Never a thunderstorm though unless its a pop up summer storm. Always encouraged to bring an extra set of clothes if a storm does hit. I typically always carry two spare outfits with me.
I don't take a summer vacation of any kind and try to not work weekends if weather cooperates. Same expectation would be required for employee hired. There may be some weekend work at times. Late fall and winter is down time. If the employee hired wanted some winter work, my customers would hire us immediately. I just don't currently offer that service anymore. A non compete will be required to be signed. This is strictly to protect my business and from anyone trying to start their own lawn business or going to another lawn business and attempting to steal customers. Highly unlikely being as most of my customers have been with me on average of at least 10 years.
Looking for someone with high energy and motivation.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular lawn maintenance tasks of edging, and trimming (No mower work) around buildings, fences, trees, sidewalks, and hard to reach areas. Plus blowing of grass off concreate areas or any hard surfaces, along with any yard clumps the mower may leave

- Operate weed whackers/string trimmers/blowers safely and efficiently
-Some small mulch jobs and some small trimming of bushes
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of how to trim properly with strong attention to detail
- Familiarity with operating outdoor power tools
