Lawler Brown, a well-established eight-attorney law firm in Marion, IL, is seeking a highly skilled Paralegal to join our civil division. This position supports two attorneys, including the Managing Partner, with work focused on banking, civil transactional matters, and civil litigation.
This is an immediate opening for an experienced, detail-driven professional.
About the Position
We are a professional, excellence-driven firm with a strong culture of teamwork, flexibility, and high performance. The ideal candidate can manage a large volume of files, communicate clearly with clients, and draft accurate legal documents under deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and revise legal documents with exceptional accuracy
- Manage a high-volume caseload using Smokeball and Microsoft 365
- Assist with banking, real estate, business, probate, and civil litigation files
- Communicate regularly with clients, banks, attorneys, and staff
- Conduct legal research using LexisNexis, IICLE, and firm resources
- Prepare and file pleadings through Illinois e-filing systems
- Support attorneys with discovery, transactional closings, and trial preparation
- Perform initiative-taking file reviews to move cases forward
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience as a paralegal (civil, banking, or litigation preferred)
- Strong drafting, proofreading, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage many files at one time without sacrificing quality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Smokeball, Illinois e-filing, and LexisNexis
- Positive, team-oriented attitude and a proactive work style
- High attention to detail and commitment to client service
Work Schedule
- Full-time, primarily 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Flexible scheduling available based on individual needs after an initial training period
- In-office position located in Marion, IL
