What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contract Attorney position at Law Offices of William C. Makler, A Professional Corporation?
We are seeking a part-time contract attorney to assist with a great variety of criminal cases in Santa Barbara (primarily), Ventura and San Luis Obispo counties. The individual would gain in-courtroom litigation experience as well as legal research in writing. The ideal applicant shall demonstrate their relevant experience and aptitude for both practice areas by way of a strong résumé, availabe professional references, a legal writing sample and a detailed cover letter. The ability to communicate effectively in Spanish, whether oral and/or written, is greatly valued but not required. A background and/or demonstrable interest in immigration, appeals and/or civil rights litigation would also be a major plus. The applicant must have a valid California drivers license and a willingness to travel (regionally). Depending on the individual’s performance and compatibility with our team, longer term and salaried employment may be offered.
