Position Summary
The Remote Compliance Paralegal will play a key role in supporting the firm’s internal compliance processes and case management systems. This position focuses on monitoring workflow, ensuring consistent follow-up of Legal Teams on assigned matters, and maintaining adherence to the firm’s internal protocols and deadlines. The role involves tracking progress, identifying potential delays or gaps, and ensuring that documentation and case updates meet the firm’s compliance standards. This is an internal support position and does not involve direct client representation or interaction with clients or government agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor internal case management systems to track deadlines, RFE responses, interview prep, filings, and overall progress
- Ensure all key documents and actions are logged and completed promptly
- Flag delayed or stagnant cases to relevant attorneys and management
- Help maintain compliance with firm protocols and procedural checklists
- Collaborate with the supervisor/team to improve accountability and workflow transparency
- Prepare periodic compliance reports and assist with internal audits
- Support the administrative case follow-up to ensure no critical steps are missed
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of immigration law experience, preferably in a high-volume firm
- Strong understanding of family-based, employment-based and removal defense immigration processes
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and follow-up skills
- Proficient in legal case management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Clear and professional communication style—both written and verbal
- Able to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize competing deadlines
- Paralegal certification preferred, but not required
