McCready Law is looking for a dependable, organized Part-Time Mail Clerk to join our downtown Chicago office. This could be a great fit for someone who enjoys a consistent weekday schedule, likes staying busy, and values accuracy and reliability.

No nights. No weekends. Just a steady part-time schedule of approximately 20–25 hours per week, Monday through Friday, primarily during the middle of the business day.

What You'll Do

You'll help keep the behind-the-scenes pieces of our office moving by:

• Sorting and distributing incoming mail and packages
• Preparing outgoing mail, certified mail, and overnight shipments
• Routing checks, legal correspondence, and other time-sensitive documents
• Processing returned and undeliverable mail
• Scanning, copying, and distributing documents
• Tracking packages and deliveries
• Keeping the mailroom organized and stocked
• Helping with occasional office-support projects when needed

Because we are a law firm, you'll also work with confidential and sometimes time-sensitive information, so attention to detail is important.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.
• Good judgment and respect for confidential information.
• Basic computer and office-equipment skills.
• Ability to lift and carry approximately 25 pounds and move throughout the office during the workday.

Previous mailroom, shipping/receiving, administrative, or office experience is helpful, but we are also open to someone with the right attitude and transferable experience who is willing to learn.
