Duties
- Provide strategic oversight and leadership for the legal department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance standards
- Manage and supervise attorneys and support staff, fostering professional development and high-performance teamwork
- Lead negotiations on complex agreements, settlements, and contractual arrangements across various legal disciplines
- Oversee litigation processes, including case management, discovery, trial preparation, and settlement negotiations
- Advise executive leadership on legal risks related to estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, landlord-tenant issues, family law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury claims, tribal law & regulations, patent law, and other relevant areas
- Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategy and policy development
- Draft and review legal documents with precision—contracts, pleadings, memoranda—and ensure clarity and compliance with applicable laws
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving laws in multiple jurisdictions to provide informed guidance on legal administrative processes and best practices
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission in relevant jurisdiction(s)
- Extensive experience practicing law across multiple disciplines including estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, family law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, tribal law & regulations, patent law & litigation
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing a team of attorneys and support staff in a fast-paced environment
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to reach favorable outcomes while maintaining professional relationships
- Proficiency in legal research platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw; familiarity with legal drafting software is preferred
- Excellent writing skills for preparing clear legal documents and reports
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex litigation cases from inception through resolution
- Legal administrative experience including case management systems and regulatory compliance procedures
- Exceptional analytical skills combined with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts effectively to diverse audiences
