Job Summary
Looking for a Litigation Paralegal, with good knowledge of Washington (and hopefully Oregon) procedure. Job duties will include supporting solo attorney in managing case files, coordinating discovery, and helping ensure all litigation processes run smoothly. The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach and attention to detail in preparing for trial, assisting in all aspects of discovery, conducting legal research, and maintaining organized case files. This paid position offers an opportunity to be at the forefront of litigation efforts in a growing firm. We are not, and never will be, a settlement mill. This is a litigation-focused practice that goes to trial regularly. At least 3 years experience as a Litigation Paralegal required. Hybrid with 100% work from home for now. Generous benefits offered.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorney in preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions by organizing case materials and evidence
- Manage and maintain case files
- Co-coordinating discovery processes with attorney including subpoenas, document requests, interrogatories, witness designations, and discovery responses to ensure timely exchange of information
- Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and correspondence with precision and clarity.
- Monitor case deadlines and court schedules diligently to ensure all filings are submitted on time
- Work with attorney, clients, witnesses, court personnel, defense counsel, and others to ensure communication and case progression
Skills
- Excellent communicator with clients and attorney
- Strong knowledge of Washington (and hopefully Oregon) litigation procedures, court rules, and legal terminology
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
- Proficiency in legal research tools and document management software
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
- Prior experience supporting litigation in complex personal injury, trucking and auto injury, or asbestos litigation is highly desirable
