Searching for a detail-oriented and organized Legal Assistant.
Strong administrative skills and a solid understanding of various areas of immigration law, including family based adjustments, waivers and consular processing, removal defense, DACA, FOIAs, and Naturalization.
Duties
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, application packets and contracts.
- Conduct legal research to support case preparation and strategy.
- Manage case files and maintain organized records for easy access and retrieval.
- Interview clients and witnesses to gather necessary information for cases.
- File documents with USCIS, courts and other relevant agencies in compliance with legal procedures.
- Draft correspondence and communicate effectively with clients in Spanish and English, communicate with ICE, USCIS, and court personnel.
- Schedule appointments, manage calendars, and coordinate meetings for attorneys.
- Perform general administrative tasks such as answering phones, managing emails, taking payments, and maintaining office supplies.

- Proven ONE year of experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar administrative role within a law firm.
- Proficiently read, speak, and write in Spanish (**)
- Familiarity with various areas of immigration law including family based adjustments, waivers and consular processing, removal defense, DACA, FOIAs, and Naturalization
- Strong writing skills with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents.
- Proficient in legal research techniques and tools.
- Excellent interviewing skills to effectively gather information from clients and witnesses.
- Knowledge of paralegal duties.
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and legal management software is advantageous.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
