A busy solo family law practice is looking for a proactive, highly organized Legal Assistant who can take ownership of their role and keep cases moving without needing constant direction.
What You’ll Do
- Manage scheduling, calendar, and court deadlines
- Communicate directly with clients, courts, and agencies
- Draft and proofread pleadings, motions, and legal documents
- Support litigation through discovery and document organization
- Maintain case files using LEAP
- Conduct document review, transcription, and editing
- Assist with legal research using LexisNexis
- Keep the office organized and running efficiently
Must Have (Non-Negotiable)
- Prior Legal Assistant experience
- Strong organization and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Attention to detail (errors are not acceptable in this role)
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Nice to Have (Will Set You Apart)
- Family law experience
- Experience with LEAP
- Litigation and discovery experience
- Experience drafting pleadings and court documents
- Familiarity with LexisNexis
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
