Small law firm looking for a full-time legal assistant to join their team and help with the organization and running of the daily operations. The ideal candidate will be a hard-working reliable individual able to undertake a variety of law office support tasks and work diligently while sometimes under pressure. This person will be comfortable working with a high degree of attention to detail, discretion, and a multi-tasker.
The law firm consist of 3 Solo Practitioner Attorneys. Lisa K. Andrews and Cary Hart who work 100% on criminal cases and Jill Lansden who works both in family and criminal law are based in Houston, Harris County, Texas. They offer employees a chance to work with a full spectrum of Family cases and State and Federal criminal cases.
They are highly respected Attorneys amongst their peers and are known for the great care they take with clients and employees alike.
Pay: $35,000 - $40,000 a year
Schedule:
8-hour shift
Monday-Friday

Requirements:
· High School Diploma
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Software
· Computer and software literacy (Apple IOS and Windows)
· Word processing ability with accuracy
· A high level of professionalism and a strong work ethic
· Ability to prioritize, efficiently multitask and problem solve
· Effectively communicate with clients, witnesses, attorneys, and court staff
· Organization and time management skills
· Ability to follow documented processes and procedures to assist attorneys with case management
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Accountability while being detail-oriented and organized
· Adaptability to new circumstances as they arise
· Flexibility and willingness to perform additional tasks as assigned
· Ability to work independently, manage large workloads, and keep deadlines
· Reliable transportation and ability to run errands as needed
· Maintain confidentiality of work product at all times
· Bilingual English/Spanish (preferred)
Responsibilities:
· Perform administrative duties, such as maintaining attorneys’ calendars, scheduling appointments, making photocopies, and compiling complex documentation
· Screen, direct, and prioritize incoming calls and emails to attorneys
· Monitor and meet deadlines by keeping multiple agendas and providing timely reminders
· Discovery review and research
· Maintaining and managing dockets and calendars
· Drafting and filing motions, orders and subpoenas as needed
· Maintain the billing and payments database to ensure that balances remain updated
· Prepare invoicing paperwork and process payments
· Manage, organize, and maintain documents in paper or electronic filing systems)
