Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal/Case Manager to join our legal team. Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, including drafting contracts, pleadings, and correspondence with precision and clarity.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research utilizing legal research tools to support case strategies.
- Manage case files electronically and physically using document management systems ; ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Perform document review and proofreading to ensure compliance with legal standards and accuracy.
- Organize and maintain case calendars, deadlines, and court filings to ensure timely submissions.
- Interview clients and witnesses to gather pertinent information for cases while maintaining professional phone etiquette and maintain calendars.
- Provide administrative support including data entry, filing, transcription, and general clerical tasks to facilitate smooth office operations.
- Support attorneys with litigation preparation by organizing evidence, exhibits, and discovery documents.
- Assist with client communication and follow-up to ensure case progress is well-documented and transparent.
- Conduct legal research on specialized areas.
- 3 years of experience as a Paralegal in criminal litigation.
- Proficiency in drafting legal documents and managing discovery processes.
- Monitor case progress and ensure all deadlines are met.
Experience
- Prior paralegal experience in a law office setting is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of legal administrative processes including document review, case management software (iManage), legal research tools (Westlaw, LexisNexis), and contract drafting.
- Experience handling diverse practice areas such as estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, family law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, patent law, securities law or tribal regulations is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence.
- Proven ability to perform detailed legal research and analysis efficiently.
- Effective communication skills with professional phone etiquette and client interaction experience.
