What are the responsibilities and job description for the Office Clerk position at LAW OFFICE OF JEFFREY NADEL?
This position will require answering phones (usually fewer than 4 calls per hour), some: Photocopying, scanning, greeting clients, taking and sorting mail, filling in forms, filing and organizing records, and basic light-duty office needs. The office is a law office and the suite will have a total of 2 attorneys and one other clerical assistant in the workspace. There is also a waiting room, but visitors are in the office about one or two hours per day.
Though you will work for one attorney, the office handles primarily civil and transactional matters.
In the office, you may be exposed to controversial legal issues or become sensitive or disturbed at the problems faced by clients needing legal counsel. This is not unusual for any law office, but expect to see litigants being evicted and / or saddened by legal circumstances in business and personal matters.
During many work hours, you are welcome to bring your own laptop and handle schoolwork or other matters of your choosing.
