What are the responsibilities and job description for the Immigration Paralegal position at Law Office of Hale Hawbecker PLC?
Duties:
Preparing and filing applications with USCIS, including but not limited to family-based petitions, adjustment of status, provisional waivers, naturalization, and U Visas.
Preparing and filing applications with the Immigration Court, with high emphasis on asylum and cancellation of removal applications.
Submitting supplemental evidence filings with EOIR in advance of Individual/Merits Hearings.
Completing affidavits with clients.
Assist attorneys in preparing and filing immigration petitions, applications, and supporting documentation
Draft legal documents, including affidavits, briefs, and contracts
Manage and maintain client files
Communicate with clients, government agencies, and other parties involved in immigration cases
Schedule appointments, meetings, and court hearings
Prepare and organize documents for immigration court hearings and interviews
Assist with administrative tasks such as billing, record keeping, and document management
Qualifications:
Bilingual (Spanish and English)
Immigration experience with EOIR and USCIS (At least 1 years of experience)
Skills:
Clerical skills for managing paperwork and documentation
Phone etiquette for communicating with clients and other parties involved in immigration cases
Legal research skills to stay updated on immigration laws and regulations
Paralegal skills for assisting attorneys with case preparation and management
Legal drafting skills for preparing legal documents such as affidavits and briefs
Legal case management skills to organize client files and track case progress
Administrative skills for handling billing, record keeping, and document management tasks
Contract knowledge to review and assist with drafting contracts related to immigration cases
Organizational skills to manage multiple cases simultaneously
Litigation knowledge to assist attorneys with preparing for immigration court hearings
pay is determined by experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
