Job Summary
The Personal Injury Litigation Assistant provides administrative and litigation support to attorneys throughout all stages of personal injury cases. This position is responsible for managing case files, preparing legal documents, coordinating discovery, maintaining communication with clients and opposing counsel, scheduling depositions and hearings, and ensuring deadlines are met. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced legal environment.
Responsibilities
Case Management
- Manage a high-volume personal injury litigation caseload from filing through settlement or trial.
- Maintain electronic and physical case files.
- Monitor litigation deadlines and court calendars.
- Track statutes of limitation and court scheduling orders.
- Organize medical records, bills, discovery, and litigation documents.
Litigation Support
- Draft and prepare:
- Complaints
- Summons
- Answers
- Notices
- Motions
- Discovery requests and responses
- Subpoenas
- Trial exhibits and binders
- File pleadings electronically through state and federal court e-filing systems.
- Coordinate service of process.
- Assist attorneys with trial preparation.
Discovery
- Prepare and organize:
- Interrogatories
- Requests for Production
- Requests for Admissions
- Review incoming discovery for completeness.
- Coordinate document production.
- Track discovery deadlines.
Client Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding case updates.
- Schedule client meetings and attorney conferences.
- Request and obtain medical records and billing statements.
- Maintain regular communication with insurance adjusters, medical providers, and expert witnesses.
Scheduling

- Coordinate attorney calendars.
Trial Preparation
- Prepare trial notebooks and exhibit lists.

Administrative Duties
- Answer incoming calls professionally.
- Maintain accurate case notes in the case management system.
- Process incoming and outgoing mail.
- Prepare correspondence.
- Maintain confidentiality of all client information.
- Knowledge of civil litigation procedures.
