Position Overview
The Litigation Paralegal plays a critical role in managing cases from pre-suit through trial or settlement. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and prior experience in personal injury litigation.
Key Responsibilities- Manage litigation files from filing through resolution
- Draft and file pleadings, discovery requests, responses, and motions
- Prepare and track discovery deadlines, court deadlines, and trial calendars
- Coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, and expert scheduling
- Draft subpoenas and manage records requests
- Review, summarize, and organize medical records, bills, and case evidence
- Prepare deposition summaries and trial binders
- Assist attorneys with trial preparation, exhibits, and witness lists
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and vendors
- Maintain accurate case notes and ensure compliance with firm procedures
- 2 years of experience as a litigation paralegal (personal injury strongly preferred)
- Strong understanding of civil litigation procedures and deadlines
- Experience with discovery, pleadings, and case management systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software
