The Law Office of B.C. McComas, LLP is an established and reputable firm dedicated to providing high-quality and cutting edge legal services. We serve clients who have been disadvantaged by the legal system. We litigate their rights post-conviction or in juvenile courts.
The firm consists of an attorney, one paralegal, and two officer mangers. We are seeking a highly organized, reliable, and proactive Office Manager to join our team. The officer manger will oversee daily operations and support our attorney and staff. The firm encourages growth and learning via participation in seminars and conferences. We work with a variety of experts and other persons in numerous fields related to our work, including other attorneys who practice criminal defense.
Position Summary
The Office Manager is responsible for managing the administrative, operational, and office support functions of the firm. The officer manger is also responsible for interfacing with our clients. This role is critical to ensure the office runs efficiently, professionally, and in compliance with firm policies, ethical standards, and legal industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily office operations and administrative procedures
- Interface with clients, their families, and other attorneys, contractors, and experts.
- Manage office staff, including scheduling, training, and performance support
- Coordinate with attorneys to support case workflow and deadlines
- Maintain office systems, supplies, and client/expert relationships
- Handle billing support, invoicing, and accounting/payroll services
- Maintain client files and ensure compliance with confidentiality requirements
- Assist with HR-related tasks such as onboarding, timekeeping, and policy administration
Qualifications
- Experience as an Office Manager or in a similar administrative leadership role
- Prior experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficiency with office software (Microsoft Office, case management and billing systems)
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum of 1 year of office management or administrative experience
- Law office experience is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary range: $75,000 – $80,000, depending on experience and qualifications
- Hybrid schedule: option to work from home one (1) day per week, subject to operational needs
