We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support our attorneys in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day administrative operations, assisting with case preparation, and acting as a primary point of contact for clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
Key Responsibilities
- Case & Document Management: Organize, update, and maintain both physical and electronic case files. Draft, proofread, and format legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence.
- Scheduling & Calendaring: Manage attorney calendars, schedule client meetings, depositions, and court hearings. Monitor critical deadlines and ensure timely filings.
- Court Filings: E-filing in state and federal courts, and communication with court clerks.
- Client Communication: Handle incoming phone calls, welcome visitors, and communicate case updates to clients with the utmost confidentiality.
- Research & Preparation: Conduct preliminary legal and factual research. Gather evidence, prepare trial binders, and assist attorneys during trial proceedings.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred.
- Experience: 2–4 years of experience working in a law firm or legal department.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal case management software (e.g., MyCase).
- Organization: Exceptional time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities under strict deadlines.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills; professional, diplomatic, and reliable.
