Position Summary
We are recruiting a part-time litigation paralegal (20-25 hours a week) with two to six years of experience. This position provides support to attorneys in more complex matters, including supervising teams and managing workflow. The paralegal assists with client communications, drafts correspondence and legal documents, and conducts legal research to ensure thorough case preparation. Key to this position is the ability to collaborate with firm attorneys to provide support for general counsel services, ethics and compliance issues, and risk management. This includes assisting with professional liability matters and related items.
This is an in-office position.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate all phases of litigation from pre-suit through trial and post-judgement collections, including supervising teams and managing workflow.
- Assist attorneys with drafting pleadings, discovery responses, motions, settlement agreements, and other legal documents.
- Prepare summaries of records, documents produced, and plaintiff and co-defendant discovery responses.
- Prepare and organize case files and exhibits for trial; manage trial logistics.
- Organize and maintain documents related to completed and ongoing cases.
- Manage case calendars, deadlines, and filings with the court.
- Conduct complex legal research as needed, analyzing cases, statutory law, regulations and case law to assist with developing legal arguments and strategy; demonstrate proficiency with cite checking and factual research.
- Assist with trial preparation and attendance including witness preparation, exhibit lists, trial logistics, and the management of required vendors.
- Communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and other parties.
- Track time spent on tasks and record time into Clio in compliance with the firm’s time entry and billing policies.
- Keep track of changes in legal frameworks and provide timely updates.
- Act as a liaison between clients, colleagues, and related parties.
- Mentor and delegate tasks to junior paralegals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with a diverse group of clients, attorneys, and staff and provide sensitive information.
- Strong ethical requirements and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to regularly report to work on the days and times scheduled.
Education Experience
- Two to six years of experience as a litigation paralegal with a focus on professional service firms.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or paralegal certificate from ABA approved organization.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Clio, and other relevant tools.
