Role Description
This is a contract role for a Mainframe Developer, located on-site in Wilmington, Delaware, United States. The Mainframe Developer will be responsible for application development, software maintenance, troubleshooting, and identifying solutions to ensure efficient batch processing. Daily responsibilities will include analyzing technical requirements, developing and modifying mainframe programs, and ensuring systems operate smoothly and effectively.
Qualifications
1. Strong proficiency in COBOL for developing, enhancing, and maintaining mainframe batch and online applications.
2. Extensive experience with IMS DB concepts, including database design, PCB structures, DL/I calls, and performance considerations.
3.Hands-on knowledge of IMS DC for transaction processing and message-driven application development.
4. Solid expertise in CICS, including screen handling, transaction management, and use of CICS APIs.
5.In-depth experience with DB2, including SQL development, query optimization, and integration with COBOL programs.
6. Strong working knowledge of VSAM datasets (KSDS, ESDS, RRDS) for efficient data storage and retrieval.
7. Proficient in JCL for batch job creation, scheduling, debugging, and managing job dependencies.
8. Experience with IBM MQ, including message queues, message processing, and integration with mainframe applications.
9. In-depth understanding of z/OS, including dataset management, utilities, and basic system operations.
10. Basic mainframe system administration knowledge, including data set handling, security concepts (RACF), and operational support.
