- Assist patients and residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and feeding to promote independence and dignity.
- Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature; accurately document findings in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Support medication administration under supervision or as permitted by state regulations, ensuring proper handling and documentation in compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, utilizing memory care techniques to ensure safety and comfort.
- Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, wound dressing changes, phlebotomy support, and aseptic techniques to maintain infection control standards.
- Operate patient lifts like Hoyer lifts safely to prevent injury during transfers; utilize appropriate equipment for patient mobility needs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nurses, therapists, and physicians to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care across inpatient, outpatient, or home settings. Experience
- Prior experience working in long-term care facilities such as nursing homes or assisted living communities is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in hospital environments including ICU, emergency medicine, or Level I/II trauma centers adds valuable insight into acute care situations.
- Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation is advantageous.
- Experience with behavioral health support or working with individuals with developmental disabilities enhances your ability to provide holistic care.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy and physiology knowledge, and basic life support (BLS) certification are essential for success in this role.
- Previous caregiving roles involving geriatrics or pediatrics will strengthen your ability to adapt care strategies to diverse patient populations.
