About The Role
As a Material Control and Accounting Specialist you will collect, review and input data supplied by nuclear material suppliers for incoming and outgoing shipments of Special Nuclear Material (i.e. Uranium). Provide acknowledgement of shipment and receipt of SNM to internal and external customers.
You will report to the Regulatory Affairs Manager and be located at Columbia, SC. You will support this role 100% onsite.

About The Role
As a Material Control and Accounting Specialist you will collect, review and input data supplied by nuclear material suppliers for incoming and outgoing shipments of Special Nuclear Material (i.e. Uranium). Provide acknowledgement of shipment and receipt of SNM to internal and external customers.
You will report to the Regulatory Affairs Manager and be located at Columbia, SC. You will support this role 100% onsite.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain confidentiality in matters involving the safeguarding and security of Special Nuclear Material at the Columbia Fuel Fabrication Facility (CFFF).
- Work with Fuel Contract Managers, the Uranium Asset Management group, Uranium Recovery and Recycle Services and the Transportation Department to meet shipping and receipt of material dates.
- Apply the use of Microsoft excel skills in a professional capacity to perform many of the daily tasks.
- Help support uranium accountability through nuclear transaction reports, investigations, measurement control programs, internal audits, and special nuclear material inventories.
- Participate in pre-job briefs to ensure internal customers provide essential data required to ship and receive Special Nuclear Material.
- Assist other MC&A staff in event investigations required by the CFFF Fundamental Nuclear Material Control Plan and internal MC&A procedures.
- Perform other MC&A-related responsibilities including issuance of tamper safe seals to support the MC&A Item Control Coordinator and entering MC&A issues in the corrective action program.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associate degree in accounting, computer science or other related field required, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least 3 years of business, data entry or manufacturing experience
- Comfortable in performing data entry and data management
- Work with team members, coworkers, and internal and external customers and special nuclear material delivery and receipt requirements.
- We ask that you obtain a Safeguards Information (SGI) clearance. To access Special Nuclear Material SGI, you must pass a special background check for this clearance.
