QUALIFICATIONS:

Prefer high school diploma or equivalent. Up-to-date or ability to obtain Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)/restraint certification and current first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training certification. A valid Arizona Commercial Driver License (CDL), passenger “P”, and school bus “S” driver license endorsement.

 

REPORTS TO:

Transportation Coordinator

 

JOB GOAL:

Safely and efficiently transports students abiding local, state, and/or federal guidelines and/or policies according to the set time schedule.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Complies with local traffic regulations.
  2. Reports delays or accidents.
  3. Performs bus inspection according to Department of Public Safety guidelines.
  4. Implements and maintains appropriate discipline program(s).
  5. Provides a welcoming, friendly, and safe environment for students.
  6. Reads and understands map(s) and route instructions
  7. Operates two-way radio.
  8. Operates District buses and white fleet vehicles.
  9. Operates wheel chair lift properly and safely.
  10. Perform other job related duties as assigned.

TECHNOLOGY SKILLS:

  1. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet and District software.
  2. Knowledge of appropriate business machines and telephones.
  3. Monitor special system(s), not limited to, including security and fire alarm systems.

  5. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  1. Ten-month, employee pay and benefits in accordance with Board policy.
  2. FLSA: Non-Exempt
  3. Full Time Employee Benefits in accordance with Board policy.

EVALUATION: 

  1. Performance to be evaluated in accordance with the Board policy on evaluation of support personnel.
