Responsibilities

- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards such as SOX, COSO frameworks, and GAAP in all accounting practices.
- Manage general ledger accounting processes and oversee the integrity of financial data within accounting software systems.
- Perform risk management assessments related to financial operations and implement mitigation strategies.
- Oversee governmental accounting functions, including budget analysis, tax reporting, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Lead or assist in external audits by providing necessary documentation and ensuring audit readiness.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in public sector financial management.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and effective financial management strategies.
