Position Title: Keep Laurens County Beautiful Affiliate Coordinator
Deadline: April 17, 2026
• Hours: Full Time - Monday through Thursday 8:30am – 5:00pm and Friday 8:30am – 2:00pm with some events and after hours required (4 Saturdays a year for cleanups)
• Salary & Benefits: Commensurate with experience/qualifications
• This position reports directly to the Laurens County Chamber President/CEO
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this position is to oversee Laurens County’s litter prevention, beautification, and recycling education by acting as the administrator and director of all programs, financials, public relations, and fundraising activities for the County and municipalities within the County, and is responsible for the administrative affairs of Keep Laurens County Beautiful.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Oversee grassroots community improvement program to promote litter prevention, beautification, education (including but not limited to Team Ecology) and waste reduction and recycling.
· Manage the day-to-day operations of the organization, including but not limited to budgeting, volunteers, board of directors, fundraising (including grant writing), annual reporting, et cetera.
· Develop relationships with government agencies, school districts, businesses, civic associations, and media to encourage participation in community workdays and the reduction of residential and commercial litter.
· Work in coordination with PalmettoPride, Keep America Beautiful, Keep South Carolina Beautiful, Laurens County SCDOT Maintenance Office, the Laurens County Sheriff’s Department, City of Clinton, City of Laurens, and other County towns and communities.
· Write and submit press releases related to KLCB.
· Represent the organization and its committees at meetings, forums, and workshops.
· Perform other duties as determined from time to time.
REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS
-Preferred- Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, or related field, and two years of experience managing an association or department and supervisory experience and two years of experience in volunteer management, preferred
-Public speaking skills: poised, persuasive, articulate
-Writing skills
-Operate a personal computer using word processing and spreadsheet software, demonstrate ability to maintain computer database records, exceptional abilities in oral and written communications, ability to work with public and private entities, and ability to coordinate multiple tasks.
-Ability to stoop and squat, lift and maneuver 30-pound boxes.
-Maintain appropriate driver’s license applicable to job responsibilities and have a good driving record.
-High energy level with positive –forward thinking
SUPPLEMENTAL DOCUMENTATION
-Documentation on experience coordinating volunteers at various levels.
-Documentation on grant experience with an example of at least one secured, administered, and complete grant.
