Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and experienced Nurse (LPN or RN) to be the primary caretaker for our seven-year-old son in our home. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care, supporting our son’s daily activities, health needs, and developmental goals. Responsibilities:
- Administer medications and supplements as prescribed.
- Monitor and track responses to medications and treatments.
- Assist with daily activities, including hygiene, mobility, and socialization.
- Prepare nutritious meals and ensure a clean, organized environment for the patient.
- Engage and collaborate with therapists to reinforce developmental goals.
- Take the patient on outings and to therapy appointments, making them enjoyable and enriching experiences.
- Be active and encourage outdoor play to help the patient expend energy in a healthy, fun way.
Expectations:
- No phone use while on the clock to ensure full attention to the patient.
- Keep equipment, toys, and the work environment clean and well-maintained.
- Collaborate closely with the therapy team and implement therapeutic strategies in daily routines.
- Maintain reliability and professionalism – time off should be requested with ample notice, and scheduling adjustments will need coordination with other caregivers.
- Training required with another nurse for three shifts at a lower hourly rate before assuming full responsibilities.
Requirements:
- Valid nursing license (LPN or RN).
- Proven experience working with special needs children, particularly non-verbal patients.
- Ability to perform in a lighthearted, engaging, and fun environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
- Comfortable with physical activity and taking the patient outdoors for exercise and play.
- Dependable and organized, with the ability to manage schedule changes with advanced notice.
