CNC Lathe Machinist - Full Time
A local international manufacturing company is looking for a motivated machinist to assist our present staff with new and existing production requirements. Seeking a promising individual in the greater Philadelphia area for this full-time, on-site position.
Job Functions:
- Set up and operate CNC Lathes with live tooling
- Set up machines timely and deliver 1st piece component prior to running production.
- Assemble and finish prototype/production components for internal and external use.
- Assist engineering with machining input for producibility of new or developing products.
- Explore creative options and examine (?) new tools to improve efficiency.
- Cross train on other machines and equipment.
- Run multiple machines to maximize efficiency. Monitor the feeds and speeds of machines during the machine process and adjust as needed.
- Maintain safety at all times.
- Review samples, drawings, or instructions to understand specifications of output
- Check accuracy of work against blueprints and specifications to ensure consistency and discard defects
- Knowledge of manual and computer-controlled machinery
- Modify programs in response to problems
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma required
- Associates Degree or Certification a plus
Experience:
- 5 years’ experience
- Mastercam experience preferred, not required
- Programming experience preferred, not required
- Essential computer skills (basic proficiency)
Special Skills or Characteristics Required:
- Able to read & interpret drawings
- Can setup & revise CNC lathe drawings
