Golf Course Maintenance Worker

• Reports to Golf Course Superintendent
• Full Time
• Employment Dates: April-November: Key season; December-March: Winter projects

Accountabilities:

• Position is responsible for supporting the GCS in all aspects of maintaining the pristine condition of golf course grounds and associated work areas
• The ideal candidate will be motivated to learn new skills and will take pride in the contribution to the high quality of the golf course grounds
• This position should provide a welcoming experience for all members, guests and associates

Essential Requirements: (include but not limited to)

• Maintain and cut grass on tee boxes, fairways, roughs, fringes and greens
• Maintain bunkers
• Assist with sodding and trimming
• Use equipment such as walking and riding greens mowers, tee mowers, fairway mowers, rough mowers, rollers, bunkers rakes, carts, push mowers and a variety of powered and non-powered hand tools
• Observe all safety practices and protocols and adhere to all policies set forth by Laurel Ridge Golf Club
• Other tasks related to the maintenance of the course and club buildings as required
• Able work work weekends and early morning shifts

Qualifications, Education and Experience:

• High School degree or equivalent preferred
• Previous golf course maintenance experience is an asset
• Spanish-speaking candidates are encouraged to apply

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

• Tasks are performed predominantly outdoors and involve physical strength, endurance and manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment
• Requires walking and standing for long periods of time. The duration of time will vary depending on the specific task being accomplished
• Must be able to exert and lift more than 50 pounds frequently and up to 25 pounds regularly
• Must be able to work in varying temperatures and inclement weather
• Must pass a pre-employment background check
