What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Bus Driver position at Laurel Public Schools?
The Laurel School District is seeking substitute Bus Drivers for daily a.m. and/or p.m. routes. Regular bus routes run approximately 4 hours per day (2 hours AM and 2 hours PM). Bus Driver Substitute pay is $15.91/hr. Extra-curricular driving opportunities are also available.
Applicants must be 21 years old, have a valid driver’s license, have a minimum of 5 years experience as a licensed driver, and hold, or be eligible to obtain, a CDL, with Air Brakes, Passenger Endorsement and School Bus Endorsement. Must pass a DOT Drug test.
The District will assist successful applicants in obtaining their Commercial Driver’s License, with air brake clearance, if they do not already have one. The District will pay for the required 10 hours of training, the DOT physical and First Aid & CPR class for all successful applicants.
