Duties
- Perform thorough patient assessments and care plans, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to determine individual care needs.
- Monitor patients’ conditions using advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth to document medical documentation accurately.
- Provide specialized dementia and memory care, including behavioral health management and tailored activities to support cognitive function.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals for diagnostic evaluations like laboratory testing, medical imaging, spinal taps, or cardiac catheterization.
- Supervise nursing assistants and team members to ensure high-quality patient care while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and NCQA standards.
- Ensure the overall well being of the Residents of Laurel Oaks
- Provide on site training of care staff and Med Techs to ensure accurate medication management
- Ensure that Laurel Oaks in operating properly under the HFA license.
Qualifications
- Valid nursing license with current registration; experience working in assisted living or long-term care settings preferred.
- Critical care experience such as ICU or emergency medicine is highly valued; familiarity with Level I/II trauma centers enhances your candidacy.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; strong medical terminology knowledge is essential.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia; knowledge of behavioral health strategies is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical examinations, diagnostic evaluations, and utilize physiology knowledge for patient assessment.
- Supervisory experience or nurse management skills are advantageous; commitment to ongoing education in acute care practices such as trauma or pediatric nursing.
