Position Summary:
This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position working within the Human Resources department. The HR Specialist will be directly responsible for the hiring, onboarding, and retention of Laurel House Inc. staff.
- Conducts phone and in-person interviews for various open positions in the organization.
- Oversees preemployment for new hires and ensures all steps are complete before orientation.
- Administers new hire onboarding paperwork during orientation for new hires.
- Notifies departments of new hires.
- Works in conjunction with HR and Fiscal with HRIS payroll software in the following ways:
- Updating employee information.
- Adding new employees.
- Reports and data.
- Maintains trackers for active staff to ensure continued employment such as:
- Tracking physical due dates and notifying staff.
- Tracking ODP mandated provider qualification expirations (license, vehicle, etc.)
- Tracking certification expirations such as CNA.
- Maintains personnel files (scanning, uploading).
- Assists in the Training Department through the following:
- Creating employee training accounts & logins.
- Assisting in orientation with completion of training.
- Provides assistance with ongoing annual training completion and tracking.
- Maintaining records.
- Assists with completion of medication practicums.
- Will become trained and certified through the Certified Investigator course.
- Attend recruitment/career events as needed.
- Works in conjunction with Human Resources in conducting 90-day and 180-day follow-ups with new hires.
- Other related duties.
Skills/Abilities/Training
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 is required.
- Proper knowledge of computers and other technology is preferred.
- Typing skills.
- Data input and chart organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a team setting as well as individual environment depending on the situation.
- Knowledge of employment law implementations or ability to learn is preferred.
- Proper phone etiquette is required.
- Ability to work in an office setting, sit/stand for prolonged periods of time, and to work in front of a computer screen for long portions of the workday.
- The ability to work one-on-one with people is preferred.
- Must be able to push/pull/lift up to 50 pounds.
- Experience in the ID/A field preferred.
- Must be able to meet Office of Developmental Program annual training requirements as set by the organization.
- Other skills and abilities as needed.
Pay: From $44,499.00 per year
