Overview
Laurel Hill School is looking for a caring and reliable Preschool Teacher Assistant to help create a warm, safe, and engaging classroom for our youngest learners. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, supports the lead teacher, and helps make each day fun and meaningful.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom activities and routines.
- Help set up materials for lessons, art, and playtime.
- Supervise children indoors and outdoors to ensure safety at all times.
- Support children with self-help skills such as dressing, handwashing, and snack time.
- Encourage positive behavior and kindness among students.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Communicate kindly and professionally with teachers, parents, and staff.
Qualifications
- Experience working with young children preferred.
- Friendly, patient, and dependable.
- Able to follow directions and work as part of a team.
- Must meet New York State clearance and health requirements.
- Must be OCFS qualified, or willing to get qualified.
