Avionics Technician
Position Summary
The Avionics Technician is responsible for the installation, modification, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of aircraft avionics systems and related wiring components. This role supports aircraft maintenance and modification projects while ensuring all work is performed in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, manufacturer specifications, and company quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Remove, install, and modify aircraft wiring, harnesses, connectors, and associated avionics components.
- Perform continuity checks, wire tracing, and wire ring-out procedures to verify proper system functionality and circuit integrity.
- Install, configure, and operationally test Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) and other avionics equipment as required.
- Assist with aircraft modification projects, including crown modifications, MCD cutouts, and other avionics-related installations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve avionics system discrepancies using approved maintenance procedures and technical documentation.
- Accurately document maintenance activities and ensure compliance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment and follow all applicable safety procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience performing aircraft avionics installation, modification, troubleshooting, or maintenance activities.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings, STC packages, Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM), Illustrated Parts Catalogues (IPS), Fault Isolation Manuals (FIM), work instructions, or other approved technical data.
- Working knowledge of aircraft electrical and avionics systems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced maintenance environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in confined spaces and maintain various physical positions for extended periods, including kneeling, crouching, sitting, reaching, bending, and lying down.
- Ability to work in elevated locations and operate manlifts, airstairs, ladders, and other approved lifting devices.
- Ability to perform work on aircraft structures, including crown modifications and other elevated work areas.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds in accordance with company safety guidelines.
- Ability to work in a hangar environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and aircraft maintenance operations.
