Employment Status: Part-Time (Non-exempt/Hourly) 

Compensation: Starting at $33 per hour

By offering early childhood education, clinical, and academic services under one roof, Laughlin fosters meaningful collaboration across disciplines, ensuring each child receives comprehensive, individualized care. 

The Opportunity:

Laughlin Children’s Center is seeking a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist to provide services 1–2 late afternoons/early evenings per week. This role focuses on working with children who present with a wide range of communication impairments in a supportive, family-centered environment. The successful SLP will demonstrate superior diagnostic and clinical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the highest ethical standards. A strong background and experience with pediatric communication disorders is preferred.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based and developmentally appropriate therapeutic practices.
  • Provide speech-language therapy services for children with a variety of communication disorders and delays.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including treatment plans, therapy notes, progress reports, re-evaluations, discharge summaries, and electronic medical records.
  • Monitor client progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and determine readiness for discharge.
  • Communicate and collaborate with parents, caregivers, referring physicians, and other professionals to support continuity of care.
  • Assist with insurance-related requirements, including diagnostic coding, authorizations, pre-determinations, and documentation requests.
  • Manage client scheduling, billing charge slips, and documentation within the electronic medical record system (Advanced MD).
  • Participate in annual chart audits to ensure compliance with documentation, HIPAA, authorization, and regulatory requirements.
  • Attend clinical staff meetings as able.
  • Maintain professional licensure, ASHA certification, and continuing education requirements.

Qualifications

Required Education, Credentials & Clearances:

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).
  • Current Pennsylvania Speech-Language Pathology License.
  • Current ASHA Certification.
  • Pennsylvania Criminal History Check.
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance.
  • Federal Criminal History Check/FBI Fingerprinting.
  • Trained in CPR & First Aid
