Position Description
Job Title: Customer Service and Sales Associate
Location: Covina, CA
Job Type: Part-time
Compensation Range: $18 - $21/hr
Join our team as we launch the newest addition to our family of clubs, the Laugh Factory Covina! Our company seeks a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Service and Sales Associate. This position requires strong communication and customer service skills, as the successful candidate will be responsible for welcoming guests, processing transactions, ushering, and responding to phone inquiries. This position reports to the manager on duty.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet guests as they enter the establishment and provide a warm and welcoming environment.
- Process ticket or merchandise transactions accurately and efficiently, including accepting payment and issuing receipts.
- Answer customer questions and provide information about the establishment, including menus, services, schedules, events, and promotions.
- Meet and seat guests in accordance with the seating plan.
- Manage coat/bag check services if needed, including accepting, tagging, and returning coats/bags and other personal items to customers in accordance with company policy.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service.
- Assist with other tasks as needed, such as taking reservations, seating guests, and clearing tables.
- Answer the club telephone during showtime hours and field customer inquiries.
- Report to managers any concerns, issues, or customer complaints.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Comedy club experience is not required, but prior sales and service experience is preferred
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
Required Skills:
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Good interpersonal, oral, and written communication abilities, including listening ability
- Basic math skills and proficiency with cash handling
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in stressful situations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to communicate concerns and improvement suggestions to supervisors
- Creativity and optimism
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of the live entertainment industry operations is preferred.
- Familiarity with safety measures and risk mitigation is desirable.
