Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Local Dry Van Driver to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to operate dry vans within the local region (including the greater Chicagoland area), ensuring timely delivery and pickup of freight while maintaining the highest safety standards. Duties
- Safely operate a semi tractor with a 53' dry van trailer within the state of WI and the greater Chicagoland area
- Load and unload at shipper and receivers
- Ensure freight is properly loaded and weight is distributed legally
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and delivery records
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route updates, delays, or issues
- Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during daily operations
- Act with professionalism while providing high quality service to our customer base
- Be open to working with variable start and end times each day depending on customer needs
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Proven experience driving flatbed trucks, tractor-trailers, or similar commercial vehicles
- Knowledge of load securing techniques and freight handling procedures
- Familiarity with route driving within local areas and ability to navigate efficiently
- Live within a reasonable distance of our terminal in Hartford, WI
