Position: Corrections Deputy
Corrections Deputies play a critical role in maintaining the safety, security, and operation of the Lauderdale County Detention Center. Deputies are responsible for protecting staff, inmates, and the public while maintaining order and professionalism inside the facility.
This position requires individuals who are dependable, level-headed, motivated, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment. Deputies must be able to think quickly, communicate effectively, and handle stressful situations with professionalism and confidence.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain the safety and security of the facility
- Supervise inmates and ensure facility rules are followed
- Prevent escapes, disturbances, and emergencies
- Complete reports and documentation
- Work alongside a professional team of law enforcement personnel
- Respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations
- Conduct security checks, head counts, and inmate movement
Minimum Qualifications
✔ Must be able to pass a criminal background check
✔ Applicants cannot have a criminal record
✔ Must possess strong communication skills
✔ Must be dependable and professional
✔ Must be capable of working under pressure
✔ Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
