Role Summary
As our Staff Accountant, you'll be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing reconciliations, and supporting financial reporting. You'll work closely with the leadership team and external CPAs to ensure accuracy and efficiency for the company's financials.

Responsibilities
- Process vendor invoices, maintain up-to-date vendor records (including W-9s), and ensure timely and accurate payments
- Generate and distribute customer invoices, monitor aging reports, and follow up on overdue accounts
- Record incoming payments and reconcile them with bank deposits
- Perform monthly reconciliations for all bank and credit card accounts, investigating and resolving any discrepancies
- Maintain accurate and current books in QuickBooks Online (or similar accounting software), ensuring proper categorization of transactions and a clean chart of accounts
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements
- Collaborate with external accountants and tax preparers by providing necessary documentation and data
- Help implement accounting best practices and identify opportunities to improve financial processes and workflows
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or staff-level accounting
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Excel/Google Sheets
- Strong understanding of AP/AR, reconciliations, and accounting workflows
- Detail-oriented, organized, and dependable
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a high-growth startup or product-based business
- Knowledge of inventory accounting or cost of goods sold (COGS)
- Familiarity with tools like Bill.com, Gusto, Stripe, Shopify, or NetSuite
- Prior exposure to cannabis, wellness, or CPG industries

Pay:
This full-time role offers a salary range of $50,000 to $70,000, with the final offer contingent on the candidate’s level of experience and demonstrated qualifications.
