What are the responsibilities and job description for the Onsite** Bengali Interpreter position at LATN?
LATN is currently seeking**ONSITE** Bengali interpreters with experience in legal, school and medical settings.
THIS IS NOT A FULL-TIME POSITION-This is a freelance position with assignments available within flexible business hours, Monday through Friday.
Duties:
- Provide interpreting services as an independent contractor in medical and social services structures.
- Comply with the National Council on Interpreting in Health Care (NCIHC) Code of Ethics and HIPAA regulations.
- Perform duties in a professional manner.
- Turn in client worksheets and invoice within 24 hours of appointment.
Qualifications:
- Must demonstrate fluency in English and a 2nd language
- Must have flexibility to accept assignments during weekdays and business hours.
- Professional demeanor and appearance
- Awareness of the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice
- Able to comply with credentialing requirements for independent contractors working in healthcare facilities
- Able to pass language proficiency and Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice test
- Must be punctual, responsible, and have a reliable means of transportation
