Latitude is partnering with a Seattle-based law firm with a national practice to identify an associate attorney to join its insurance coverage and complex litigation team. This is a great opportunity for an attorney who enjoys analyzing complex coverage issues, engaging in meaningful litigation work, and collaborating with a strong, supportive team. Responsibilities
The attorney will work closely with a team of experienced litigators and may be involved in all phases of litigation and insurance coverage matters, including:
- Managing cases from inception through resolution
- Drafting pleadings, motions, correspondence, and settlement agreements
- Conducting legal research and analysis of case law, statutes, regulations, fact patterns, and insurance policy language
- Reviewing and analyzing claims files, pleadings, discovery materials, and other litigation documents
- Preparing for and participating in depositions, mediations, hearings, and meetings
- Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and experts
- Assisting with trial preparation
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- 2 years of litigation experience, with insurance coverage experience preferred
- Experience handling civil litigation tasks, including discovery, motions practice, depositions, and trial preparation
- Strong writing, analytical, and legal research skills
- Ability to manage cases proactively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Licensed to practice law in Washington
- Type of role: Permanent role
- Schedule: Full-Time
- Location: Onsite in the firm’s Seattle office (can be 4 days a week at the office after the first 3 months)
- Base Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 , depending on experience and qualifications.
- The firm offers quarterly billable hour bonuses for attorneys who exceed established billable thresholds, as well as origination bonuses for bringing new clients to the firm.
- In addition, the firm provides a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan with employer match, profit sharing, bonus opportunities, parental leave, paid holidays, and 20 days of paid time off.
