What are the responsibilities and job description for the Interim General Counsel position at Latitude Legal?
Latitude is seeking an attorney with significant employment law experience to work as Interim General Counsel for a professional services firm on a contract basis. The Interim General Counsel will assist with employment matters, engagement contracting and other general issues. This is a one attorney legal department, where the successful candidate will advise leadership and consultants, perform legal work directly, and oversee outside counsel. Interested candidates must have 10 years of employment law experience (ideally some international) and will ideally have experience in litigation. Candidates can be licensed to practice and in good standing in any U.S. state. This can be a remote position, but East Coast and Atlanta are preferred.

Requirements For The Interim General Counsel
- 10 years of employment law experience required, significant litigation experience preferred
- Experience with professional services firms (or in GC function of law firm) preferred
- Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, global enterprise, working closely with leadership and consulting teams
- Prior experience working in-house at an industrial or recycling company
- Licensed to practice in any U.S. state
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills
- Type of Role: Contract/Engagement
- Schedule: Full-Time
- Location: Remote or hybrid (Atlanta area)
- Pay: The annualized pay for this position range from $190,000-$230,000 when calculated on a full-time basis. Pay for contract engagements is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, and market supply/demand.
- Benefits: In addition to pay, all Latitude Attorneys and other legal professionals working on contract engagements receive complimentary professional liability insurance coverage. All Latitude employees (including those on contract engagements) are also eligible for full benefits when working 20 hours per week, including group medical, dental, and vision insurance, and complimentary group life, LTD and AD&D insurance. A qualified 401K plan is also available. Benefits-eligible Latitude Attorneys also receive a CLE and Professional Expense stipend.
