What are the responsibilities and job description for the In-House Counsel for Construction Company [Columbia/Spring Hill TN] position at Latitude Legal?
Latitude is working with a Middle-Tennessee based company in the construction industry to provide a fractional in-house counsel to assist with reviewing and negotiating contracts and providing day-to-day advice on range of legal matters. The ideal candidate will be an adept issue spotter and in-house generalist, with solid knowledge of construction law matters. This role is on an engagement basis through Latitude and would require the successful candidate to work on-site in the Columbia/Spring Hill, TN area. This is a great opportunity for a mid-level attorney to either move in-house or continue honing their in-house generalist skillset and is likely to convert to a permanent hire position.
Minimum Qualifications Of The In-House Counsel
Pay: The annualized pay for this position ranges from $150,000 to $190,000 when calculated on a full-time basis. Pay for contract engagements is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference (each candidate’s pay rate affects the client bill rate which can affect the candidate’s competitiveness for the position).
Benefits: In addition to compensation, all Latitude attorneys and other legal professionals working on contract engagements receive complimentary professional liability insurance coverage for work or acts or omissions provided within the scope of a Latitude-authorized engagement. All Latitude employees (including those on contract engagements) are also eligible for full benefits when working 20 hours per week, including group medical, dental, and vision insurance, and complimentary group life, LTD and AD&D insurance. A qualified 401k plan is also available. Benefits-eligible Latitude Attorneys also receive a CLE and Professional Expense stipend.

- 5 years of experience practicing law; prior in-house experience preferred
- Knowledgeable in construction/development legal issues and deep experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts (experience with construction and vendor contracts is highly preferred)
