What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fractional General Counsel for Mortgage Company position at Latitude Legal?
Latitude is seeking an attorney with significant experience handling real estate finance and private lending transactions to work on a part-time contract basis as General Counsel for a Nevada based residential and commercial mortgage company. Experience with Nevada transactions governed under Nevada Revised Statutes 645B is required.
Required Experience
Pay: The annualized pay for this position ranges from $180,000 to $230,000 on a full-time basis. Pay for contract engagements is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference (each candidate’s pay rate affects the client bill rate which can affect the candidate’s competitiveness for the position).
Benefits: In addition to pay, all Latitude Attorneys and other legal professionals working on contract engagements receive complimentary professional liability insurance coverage. All Latitude employees (including those on contract engagements) are also eligible for full benefits when working 20 hours per week, including group medical, dental, and vision insurance, and complimentary group life, LTD and AD&D insurance. A qualified 401k plan is also available. Benefits-eligible Latitude Attorneys also receive a CLE and Professional Expense stipend.

Required Experience
- 5 years of experience with Nevada mortgage transactions in a law firm or in house setting
- Structuring, drafting, negotiating, and reviewing a wide variety of sophisticated real estate financing transactions
- Handling/overseeing foreclosure proceedings, loan servicing and payoff administration, and compliance with loan origination documentation.
- Excellent academic credentials from an U.S. accredited law school
- Licensed and in good standing in any state (but must have expertise with Nevada transactions governed under Nevada Revised Statutes 645B)
