For an experienced, business-minded attorney who thrives on variety, this Associate General Counsel role offers the opportunity to take on broad responsibility across commercial, corporate, and employment matters while working closely with senior leadership. The Associate General Counsel will join the lean legal team of an innovative, sustainability-focused business with operations across the country. This is a full-time position with a hybrid work schedule based in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metro area.
Reporting directly to the General Counsel, the Associate General Counsel will have significant visibility across the organization and the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and business teams. The attorney will take ownership of a wide variety of matters in a fast-paced environment, including partnering closely with HR on labor and employment issues. The ideal candidate will enjoy the breadth and variety of a true generalist role and bring a responsive, practical, and client-focused approach to supporting the company and its business teams.
Basic Requirements of the In-House Associate General Counsel (Hybrid / Full-Time In-House Counsel) Minneapolis-Saint Paul metro area
Pay: The salary range for this role is $180,000 to $200,000. This position is also eligible for a generous bonus. Pay is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, and location.

- 8–10 years of relevant legal experience, including experience in both a sophisticated law firm practice and an in-house legal department
- Strong commercial and corporate experience, including drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements and advising on a broad range of day-to-day legal matters
- Experience advising on labor and employment matters, including employee relations, workplace issues, and employment policies, with experience advising on union or other traditional labor matters a plus
- Experience in the food services industry or another operationally complex, multi-location business environment preferred but not required
- Ability to effectively manage and prioritize a varied workload in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to provide practical, solutions-oriented legal counsel while being highly responsive to internal clients
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with executives, HR, and business teams
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in Minnesota (or eligible for in-house exemption)
