Spot Welder 1 (First Shift)

Minimum Job Requirements

• Physical- Capable of lifting 40 lbs. safely or with assistance. Performing manual labor for long periods with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Working Hours- Full-time Employment (40 hrs/week).
• Personal Traits—Good communication skills, positive teamwork and safety attitude, conscientious attention to detail and accuracy, desire to learn new skills, dedication to continuous improvement, great work ethic, and punctuality.
• Ability to work the whole shift standing while operating a foot pedal.

Job Duties and Responsibilities 

Timely completion of job functions. Produce customer parts and products per the Company's established safety, quality, and cost standards. Responsible for producing quality workmanship that meets or exceeds requirements.

• Spot weld parts in conformance with specifications and meet daily required production assignments.
• Start-up spot welding machines with minimal assistance.
• Work independently with minimal assistance.
• Arrive at work punctually and be willing to work overtime when needed. 
• Ensure internal and external customer satisfaction by working with the department supervisor and the lead.
• Work safely and ensure hazardous conditions are eliminated.  Follow company safety procedures.
• Communicate accurately and effectively with other individuals in the department and other departments.
• Accurately maintain the MES system as instructed.
• Follow and execute ISO Quality system procedures, including instructions on job travelers and control plan per ISO procedures.
• Audit of materials and/or production parts before delivery to the next operation area.
• Maintain a neat and clean work area.
• Other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to learn to safely operate resistance welding machines with minimal supervision on cold rolled steel.
• High attention to detail.
• Possess basic math skills, including reading and using a tape measure.
• Ability to learn the basics of resistance welding hazards.
• Must be able to load and unload parts repeatably in fixtures while maintaining all cosmetic or quality standards.

Education and Experience

• No experience required. Resistance welding experience preferred.
