About the Role
Latitude 33 Planning & Engineering is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our growing team in Los Angeles.
This role is ideal for an experienced civil engineer looking to expand technical leadership responsibilities while progressing toward a Project Manager path. The Senior Project Engineer will lead technical design efforts, mentor junior staff, coordinate with clients and agencies, and support successful delivery of land development projects throughout Southern California.

Responsibilities
As a Senior Project Engineer, you will:
β’ Lead technical design, engineering production, and project coordination efforts
β’ Serve as technical lead on land development projects from conceptual planning through construction support
β’ Design and review engineering plans, specifications, calculations, and technical reports
β’ Perform preliminary engineering studies and feasibility evaluations
β’ Prepare and coordinate tentative and final subdivision maps
β’ Develop public improvement plans and development plans
β’ Prepare grading, earthwork, drainage calculations, and related reports
β’ Coordinate infrastructure and site development design activities
β’ Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables
β’ Mentor and supervise junior engineers and civil designers
β’ Coordinate directly with clients, consultants, and public agencies
β’ Support entitlement processing, permitting, and project approvals
Qualifications
Required:
β’ Bachelorβs Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
β’ California Professional Engineer (PE) License
β’ 7β10 years of land development / civil engineering experience
β’ Experience managing project schedules and budgets
β’ Experience mentoring or supervising junior staff
β’ Client and agency coordination experience
β’ Strong technical background in grading, drainage, utilities, and site development
Preferred Experience
Experience with:
β’ Commercial, office, healthcare, educational, aviation, and mixed-use developments
β’ Subdivision maps and entitlement processing
β’ Public improvement plans and development plans
β’ Earthwork and drainage analysis
β’ Site planning and infrastructure design
β’ Civil 3D, Bluebeam, and related design software
