Job Summary
I am an Immigration Consultant working in a small independent Immigration office located in San Fernando, CA seeking a detail-oriented and bilingual (spanish/english) Paralegal Assistant. The ideal candidate will support immigration cases, assist with document preparation, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. The job duties would be as follow:
- Prepare and review immigration-related documentation, including petitions, applications, and supporting evidence for USCIS submissions
- Conduct legal research on immigration laws, policies, and procedures using docketwise and other legal research tools
- Manage case files using legal case management systems and document management systems such as docketwise.
- Assist Immigration Consultant with drafting legal documents, correspondence, and reports with high accuracy and attention to detail
- Interview clients to gather necessary information for case preparation, ensuring clear communication in both English and Spanish
- Maintain organized case files, track deadlines, and monitor case progress to ensure timely submissions
- Perform administrative tasks including data entry, filing, proofreading, transcription, and general clerical support
- Provide exceptional client service by maintaining professional phone etiquette and organizational skills throughout all interactions
Qualifications
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required
- Paralegal experience with a focus on immigration law strongly preferred; familiarity with USCIS processes essential
- Knowledge of relevant legal areas such as family law & Power of attorney
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously under tight deadlines
- Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence; proofreading and transcription abilities are important
- Experience with document review, legal administrative support, data entry, filing, and document management.
- Effective interviewing skills combined with professional phone etiquette to communicate clearly with clients
- Demonstrated ability to perform legal research accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills coupled with attention to detail to ensure accuracy across all tasks
Pay Rate: Starting from $21.00 to $26.00 (depending on Exp.)
Hours offerred: 40 hours weekly (must be available saturdays)
Transportation: must have a vehicle
