Summary:
Dietary Aide delivers food to residents’ rooms as needed and serves food to residents in the dining room. Responsibilities include cleaning, sanitizing and setting the dining room and kitchen areas before and after meals. Dishes, Scooping Ice Cream, Pouring drinks, and Serving Resident trays.
The resident care and services provided are in accordance with 105 CMR Department of Public Health licensing requirements for a level IV facility.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), three months related experience and/or training or the equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Three to six months related food service experience preferred
- Must have good communication (oral and written) skills
- Must achieve all applicable in-service requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Clean and set up tables in the dining room for meals
- Ensure the serving utensils, napkins, and condiments are on the tables in dining room
- Serve food, presenting food on tables for the residents according to diet list
- Prepare food on the carts for delivery to dining room
- Serve food in the dining room to residents
- Serve meal trays to residents in their room or for those who have missed meals
- Collect dirty dishes, use dish machine or hand wash pots, pans and dishes
- Clean the dietary work area, tables, cabinets, and ovens
- Collect the trashes in disposing of trash/recycling in designated containers
- Understand the resident dietary restrictions to ensure safe food serving practices
- Respond promptly to resident’s needs, respond to requests for service and assistance and meets commitments
- Speak clearly and calmly in positive or negative situations, listens and gets clarification
- Respond well to questions by residents
- Perform additional duties or special assignments as directed by the Dietary Manager or Lathrop Home administration
