JOB SUMMARY
The Construction Administrator will provide support for our projects. The ideal candidate will work primarily in the Main Office, coordinate with various professionals and our project specific Construction Administrators in the Field to ensure projects run smoothly and seamlessly. This is a pivotal role that requires excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Coordinate with Field Administrators for new projects to begin construction
- Assist with processing submittals and shop drawings
- Monitor and assist in responding to Requests for Information (RFI), Architects Supplemental Instructions (ASI) and Change Order Requests (COR)
- Assist with coordination of field issues with Design Team – tweaking or correcting details, general notes, missing information on plans
- Assist with creating contingency authorizations and facilitate processing
- Process and archive close out documents
- Track value engineering lists and coordinate with Construction Administrators in the Field, verifying that Engineers have reviewed the VE lists
- Assist with creating various correspondence for projects (general letters, Technical Standards for Construction NTC, color/finish schedules, etc.)
- Assist with coordination of year end inspections with Construction Administrators in the Field
- Assist Construction Administrators in the Field with proper filing of project documentation
- Attend pre-bid meetings, bid openings as needed
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Administration or related field preferred
- 5 years’ experience in the construction industry
- Knowledge and understanding of commercial construction processes, products and services
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Adaptability to current company processes and methodologies
- Problem solving and conflict resolution management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to lead meetings, facilitate discussion and evaluate meeting outcomes
- Periodic daily travel is required and driving record must be in good standing
