What are the responsibilities and job description for the Agricultural Equipment Operator position at Latham Farms?
Latham Farms is a 25-acre vegetable farm. The farm is located in Elizabethton, Carter County, Tennessee. We grow green peppers, squash, zucchini, and tomatoes. Produce is planted, harvested, and loaded onto trucks in the field and hauled to storage locations. We need seasonal employees to assist with all aspects of growing these crops. Planting seeds, by hand and/or machine, transplanting plants by hand/or machine, weeding and pruning plants by hand, stringing tomato and pepper plants by hand. During harvest, workers will harvest crops, picking vegetables in buckets or crates and loading them onto a truck to be shipped. Packing vegetables in boxes, lifting them to be loaded onto trucks. Workers must comply with USDA GAP protocols and notify employer of any contamination or breach in protocols. Workers will be trained in USDA GAP protocols. The employer, at its sole discretion, may grant pay increases based on factors such as performance, longevity, and/or experience. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer.
