About the Role:
Lasting Impressions Child Development Center in Clarksburg, WV is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to join our Infant/Toddler classroom! Responsibilities:
- Assist lead teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for infants and toddlers
- Support daily routines including feeding, diapering, napping, and age-appropriate play activities
- Engage children in developmentally appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional growth
- Maintain accurate daily logs and communicate updates to parents and guardians
- Ensure classroom cleanliness and adherence to health and safety protocols
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children, families, and fellow staff members
- Follow all licensing regulations and childcare center policies
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required; coursework in Early Childhood Education (ECE) preferred
- Previous experience working with infants and toddlers in a childcare or educational setting is a plus
- Genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting, bending, and sitting on the floor
- Must pass a background check and meet WV childcare licensing requirements
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
